TranSmart, as a subconsultant, performed hands-on, visual inspections of existing twin- and single-mast arm roadway light fixtures to identify defects, deterioration, malfunction, damage, and potential hazards. Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques were used to verify areas of concern and all work was performed in accordance with American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and manufacturer procedures and guidelines. In order for TranSmart to collect data and capture real-time photos of inspected assets, TranSmart collaborated with a third-party application. The third-party application is a web-based, customizable application used to collect data at a specific location in real time. This application allowed the real-time review of the asset by the structural engineer in the office, allowing only the required, OSHA-trained staff to be in the field.
