Thomas Harroun, PE, SE, Joins TranSmart as Chief Structural Engineer

TranSmart, LLC is pleased to announce that Thomas Harroun, PE, SE, came on board recently as Chief Structural Engineer. In this role, Tom is leading TranSmart’s Structural Group while providing oversight of the firm’s portfolio of structural engineering projects.

Tom brought nearly three decades of experience in structural and civil engineering to TranSmart. He has an extensive background with bridge design for regional transportation clients including the Illinois

Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois Tollway, and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). Tom also has significant rail project experience.

“We’re glad Tom joined us and brought such breadth and depth of experience to our team!” said Dr. Connie Li, PE, President of TranSmart. “Tom will be an asset for TranSmart’s engineering leadership and a great mentor for our younger engineers.”

Tom received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. He is also a member of the Illinois Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
