Doug Brazelton, PE, PTOE, Joins TranSmart as Senior Traffic Signal Operations Program Manager

TranSmart, LLC is pleased to welcome Doug Brazelton, PE, PTOE, to the firm as Senior Traffic Signal Operations Program Manager. Doug will be a part of TranSmart’s leadership team and will serve as the lead technical specialist for the firm’s Traffic Operations, including Signal Coordination and Timing (SCAT) projects.

“I am very happy to be joining the TranSmart Traffic Team and contribute in any way I can,” said Doug. “I am looking forward to new projects and working with the talented staff as well as mentoring new engineers.”

For more than 35 years, Doug has been involved with several traffic signal system upgrades throughout Northeastern Illinois. He has vast experience working on SCAT and Transit Signal Priority (TSP) projects for clients including the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), Lake County, and Pace Bus. He is experienced with community involvement centered around signal timing projects and helped guide several young engineers on to successful careers.

“Doug’s decades of project leadership and technical experience will be invaluable to our Traffic Operations,” said Dr. Connie Li, PE, President of TranSmart. “He will help us build on TranSmart’s success in providing high-tech and traditional traffic engineering solutions, while we continue to integrate into the nationwide Atlas family of engineering companies.”

Doug received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
