TranSmart provided Phase III construction management, engineering, and inspection services for the installation of ITS devices and corresponding communications systems on this systemwide contract. TranSmart also provided administration and coordination, materials documentation, reporting, and technical and systems integration support.

Installed ITS devices included:

• Fiber-optic communications cable plan and infrastructure

• Microwave vehicle detection system (MVDS)

• Ramp-queue detection system (RQDS)

• Closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV)

• Roadway weather information system (RWIS)

• Corresponding communications network equipment and infrastructure
