TranSmart, as a subconsultant, provided services for maintaining intelligent transportation system (ITS) equipment deployed along the Illinois Tollway system. This includes project management, maintenance oversight, field verification / validation, inventory asset management, material procurement, QA/QC, project controls and reporting, and ticketing system administration. ITS field equipment consists of full-matrix amber and color dynamic message signs (DMS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras with PTZ  (analog and digital), traffic monitoring devices (microwave radar and inductive sensors), weather monitoring equipment with snow and ice detection, automatic and high-speed vehicle weigh-in-motion systems, and secure TCP/IP communications networks (fiber-optic, wireless radio, and digital cellular links).
