TranSmart is providing safety and security certification (SSC) services and program representative to lead, coordinate, manage, and oversee the certification process on the project design team. Safety and security certification provides a formal verification process to ensure that all systems, facilities, and equipment—plus operational requirements including plans, rules, procedures, and training programs—are reviewed for compliance with established system safety and security requirements, including applicable codes and standards, prior to construction completion and operational use. This overall project includes a signal system upgrade and some special track work on the O’Hare Airport branch of the Blue Line from Jefferson Park Interlocking to O’Hare International Airport.
