TranSmart conducted an in-depth review of the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District’s (MTD) maintenance program to enhance the agency’s efficiency in utilizing a recently commissioned maintenance facility. TranSmart assessed existing conditions, detected potential program gaps, identified industry best practices and performance measures, assessed current record keeping and reporting processes, and examined decision support tools. Upon completion, TranSmart provided MTD with a final written report including recommendations for maintenance program enhancements that aligned with transit asset management and state-of-good-repair requirements.
